During the scene where Billy and Frank are talking, Jack Nicholson felt that he wasn’t “intimidating” enough. Director Martin Scorsese reveals that the next day, Nicholson shocked everyone on set by deviating from the script and pulling out a weapon to frighten his co-star and provoke a genuine reaction. Scorsese says, “He pulled a gun on him. He didn’t tell me he had a gun. It was great… Leo’s reaction is real-time. I still get chills… It’s so real to me.” Of the incident, Dicaprio says, “It was one of the most memorable moments of my life, as far as being an actor is concerned.”

Favourite Movies The Green Mile

↳ “They usually call death row ‘The Last Mile’, but we called ours ‘The Green Mile’, because the floor was the color of faded limes. We had the electric chair then. Old Sparky, we called it. I’ve lived a lot of years, Ellie, but 1935 takes the prize. That was the year I had the worst urinary infection of my life. That was also the year of John Coffey and the two dead girls.”

Man of Steel

The Superman film we’ve been waiting for?  I’m afraid not.  This movie was so frustrating!!  The story structure was all over the place making it hard to connect with anything.  The only real character development was Clark, thus making the courtship of Lois Lane kind of out of the blue.  The action is hard to follow and gets to the eye rolling proportions of Michael Bay.  And after all the Bay-ish stuff happens it looks like there would be at least $20,000,000,000,000 worth of damage!!  I like that they knew they couldn’t top John Williams, but we don’t get to hear the new theme in full until the credits!!  I honestly truly believe Superman Returns is a better overall movie!

The movie just couldn’t breathe with the lack of character development, sensible structure, and a good sense of the world.  On a technical level it’s grade A along with some good individual scenes, but I felt the only genuine thing about the movie was Russell Crowe’s performance.  (and maybe Kevin Costner’s as well)

All in all, the biggest disappointment since The Hobbit.
